Subject: I wouldn't believe this myself either...

If anyone would have stepped up to me two and a half years ago to tell me I would become a Marathon Runner, improve my personal life in different area's and lose over 44 Pounds, I would have never believed it.

At that time I was struggling with many things in my personal life. I was way too fat so I seriously needed to lose a lot of weight plus I had the feeling that I wasn’t succeeding in anything…

“I Wanted To Accomplish Something Big... But I Had No Clue What To Do…”

I used to hate going on a diet and my weight went up and down all the time ever since I was young. I was feeling tired almost all of the time so about 2,5 years ago I decided I desperately needed to change some major things in my life. I just wasn’t happy and things needed to change...

“I Decided to Run A Marathon…”

How and why did I decide to run a marathon? Was I crazy?

First, let me go back 2,5 years ago…

23rd of September 2004:

I was at my parents place for a visit. We were barbequing and enjoying some nice cold beers and a bunch of spare-ribs. My father had a lot to do with my decision to start training for a marathon

My father had been a sportsman since he was 29 years old. Before he reached that age he was kind of like me. He drank and ate a lot, didn’t feel fit and just didn’t succeed in anything.

On that day, my father told me sports had changed his life

He also told me how he got started. He couldn’t even run for one minute when he was 29 years old. This was kind of hard for me to understand because I have always known him as a sportsman. However, when he was 40 years old he finished his first triathlon (that’s 4 kilometres swimming, 180 kilometres cycle racing and 42 kilometres running… beat that!)

He had won a lot of prices before he reached that “milestone” and in my opinion he is still a big sportsman (He is 54 years old now)

His life became so much better after he started practicing sports. At the age of 29, my father was in the same situation as I was, the only difference was that he was a few years older.

“So If He Could Do It At That Time, Why Couldn’t I?”

These are the things I wanted to accomplish at that time:

*      finish my study;

*      start my own business;

*     lose weight;

*     feel good and look better;

*     accomplish “something”…

Then I said it: that “something” turned out to be (And yes they laughed, very hard)

“I Am Going To Run A Marathon!…”

“Is it possible?”, I asked my father. He told me the Rotterdam Marathon was going to be in April so I had almost seven months to prepare for it. So in theory, it would be possible. I don’t think he actually believed me though (I said it while I was eating a bunch of spareribs with a beer in my hand)

So I decided to DO it, and honestly, I DID believe in myself. Almost seven months later, I had lost 44 pounds, finished my study, set up several businesses, learned to speak a foreign language and felt and looked much better…

The only way to do it was to set a goal and to simply don’t stop before I reached that goal (I will tell you more about setting goals (and how it can change your life) later on this page.)

So that’s what I did, I set a goal…

And I Did It! (Within 6,5 Months)”

“I Went From Being Way Too Fat, Feeling Miserable And Having No Energy To Becoming A Marathon Runner Within 6,5 Months, And I Never Looked Back…”

After only 6,5 months of training! And guess what? It wasn’t even that hard! I even lost more weight after I finished my first marathon…

That’s right, it’s the truth! It did change my life to the extreme (and so can yours) but first I will tell you how and why I decided to run a marathon.

“Seriously, If I Can Do It, You Can Do It Too…”

It changed my life, and it can change your life too. I decided that if I could do it, I could also help others and actually I did help others…I will show you some examples later on this page but first you need to read on to get the rest of the story.

I never would have thought that I was actually able to help others with running. I’m not a skinny athlete, still got “big bones ;)” but I did manage to help myself to the better and even more important, I helped a lot of people with my free tips, tricks and techniques. I received over a thousand messages on my website and I received countless emails from runners all over the world.

Whenever I start to hesitate I simply look back at where I was (before I started running) and how I felt after finishing my first marathon and suddenly it feels like everything is possible.

This principle alone made my life so much better and made me do things I would never have dreamed off two years ago and I can only imagine what this principle will do for me for the rest of my life… seriously!

My friends (and family) all laughed when I said that I was going to run a marathon but I didn’t listen to them. After I finished my first marathon I did set up some other “big goals” which I never would have thought I would accomplish two years ago but I also achieved these goals all because of one simple principle which I will talk about later on this page.

I feel like I’m getting off track now…

“I Wanted To Give Back To All The People That Have Been So Kind To Me”

The success stories I received made a big impact on me so I had the feeling I had to give back to all the great people who contacted me to tell me their success stories. I literally put all my free time of the last couple of months in this project but it has been the greatest thing I ever did since I finished my first marathon… This is like another milestone for me…

So what did I do the last couple of months?

I decided to put up a program which can help you even more. It took me months of my free time to finish this program and I am convinced that this program will help you with running… And with life!

That’s right, this program won’t just help with running but if you apply all these principles, strategies and techniques it will increase the quality of your personal life also which I will also be covering later on this page.

Here’s What You Will Discover In This Exclusive, Never Seen Before Program…”

“Run That Marathon Multimedia Program”

The last couple of months I’ve been working on this program and as I said earlier, this is another milestone for me and this could be the beginning of something big for you.

Here’s an overview of what you will discover in this program. I divided it in 8 parts for your convenience so whenever you want access to this material you can get it quick and easy.

Part 1

“The Motivational Part”

I am not a motivational speaker like Tony Robbins or any other self improvement guru but I did find out a lot of techniques which are helping me to move forward in my live (and I’ve seen others implement these techniques which helped them to the extreme) so this is a very important part.

“Just Implement These Techniques And It Will Change Your Life… Guaranteed!”

You will discover everything you need to know about how to achieve big things for the rest of your live (and of course how to run a marathon which is a big achievement).

This is what you will discover in the first section of this program :

*     How to take action, and why it is so important to take serious action. If you apply to this principle it will change your life… Seriously!

*     Why you are not too old to start running. Believe me, I’ve seen 77 year olds running their first (!) marathon! Unbelievable!

*     How and why you need to make a plan and what this will do for your progress

*     How to never make an excuse again to skip a training. If you apply to this principle you WILL run a marathon!

*     Why you should never let anyone discourage you from running. This rule can be applied not only with running but is a life lesson on its own. (This will help you get what you want faster than you could ever imagine)

*     How to get disciplined. (this one is so important). First running has to become a routine. Once the line between routine and discipline fades then you got it made!

*     How to set a goal and why this will help you become a marathon runner. Before I started training I couldn’t imagine myself running 6 miles, but once I set the goal to run the marathon everything changed…

*     Why you have to think and talk about it all the time. This might sound a little strange but it does help tremendous!

*     Why you have to be patient. You (most likely) won’t become a marathon runner within a month, but you will get there once you get the patience you need.

*     How everything gets clear while you are running (I came up with the best ideas while I was running)

*     My golden rule and why this golden rule made me achieve results extremely fast

*     How to get motivated at times you feel like giving up

*     How to deal with the bad days (you will get bad days… I’m sorry!

*     How to constantly get out of your comfort zone (do this and you will achieve goals bigger than you ever imagined.

You will notice that this part of the program will motivate you to start running and to keep on running until you have achieved your goal (which of course is what this program is made for). However, when you apply these principles on other parts of your life you can achieve tremendous goals.

Part 2

“How To Get Started”

Ok, so you’ve set your goals and you need to know what you need to do to reach that goal but now you got to get started (this is the hardest part. If you’re already running regularly you’re already right on track. If not, it’s okay!)

This part of the program will help you get started.

In part 2 of this program you will discover:

*     How to get started (even if you never ran a mile before, You will discover how and when you can start training for a marathon, and actually become a marathon runner too! (you will get there… Step by step!)

*     A detailed running schedule. You will know exactly when you need to run, how often you need to run and the exact distances. You will receive three different running schedules : novice, advanced and excellent.

*     Why you should take it slow (if you’re not too experienced)

*     How to get of the couch when you’re too tired to run

*     How to bridge the gap between knowing and doing

There are a few key elements you need to apply to get started and to get going. Chances are that you’ll get out of your routine once in a while (that’s okay) but it’s imported to get started again! That’s what this part of the program is for.

Part 3

“How To Handle Food and Drinks, and How To Lose Weight!"

When I started out running  I didn’t exactly know what to eat, when to eat and drink and what the best way was to lose that weight. Please note that losing weight wasn’t my primary goal, it came as an extra advantage on the way to my marathon (as many other advantages that will occur when you are training for your marathon).

Once you find out how to handle your food, drinks and how to lose weight it will become easier and you can achieve your goal even faster!

*     How to lose more weight by running less hard

*     Why you should focus on the running, not the weight loss

*     When to eat (before or after running?)

*     How and why you should test the food you eat

*     What (and how) to eat during your trainings (or the marathon)

*     What to drink before, during and after running

*     How to manage drinks and food during the longer trainings

*     How much you should eat and drink the days before a marathon

So now you know what to eat before, during and after you run which is quite important especially when you are going to run longer and more often. It’s time to move on to your clothing. You can get started, keep going and know what to eat but all of this can be useless if you wear the wrong clothes (especially your shoes). Let’s get to part 4!

Part 4

“What Clothes To Wear, What Shoes To Buy”

I’ve seen so many people run on the wrong shoes which injured them for the rest of their lives. Next to the injuries (which we will talk about later on) it is very important to choose the right clothes so you can make progress even faster. It can be those small things which can help you tremendously during your trainings.

Here’s a short overview of what you will discover in Part 4 of this program

*     What socks to wear during your trainings (yes, that’s important too!)

*     Why you shouldn’t save money on your running shoes. Your feet are important, you might need them once!

*     What running shoes to buy when you are overweight (been there done that J)

*     How to look great during training. (you don’t have to feel embarrassed while you’re running!)

*     How to wear your clothes (this one is important for the heavy “sweaters”)

*     When to buy new running shoes (neglect this advice and you will get injured) and how many pairs of shoes you actually need

So now you know what clothes to wear and what shoes to buy, but this isn’t a guarantee to stay out of injuries. Of course the right clothes and shoes are very important for you not getting injured however there are a lot of other things you need to know to stay out of injuries, so let’s move on to the next part of this program “how to stay out of injuries”.

Part 5

How To Stay Out Of Injuries”

Well this might not sound too exciting but whenever you are going to be a runner, you will get injured. It might be a nasty injury or smaller injuries but you will get them. This doesn’t have to be a big problem if you can manage to prevent yourself from getting big injuries.

On my way to my first marathon I got injured several times but there is a way to deal with it. (I broke my hand 3,5 months before my first marathon so I had to walk with plaster bandage for a whole month. This was my “nastiest” injury on my way to my first marathon.)

Of course the best way to stay out of injuries is to prevent it. This is what this part of the program is all about. Maybe not so exciting but extremely important!

In Part 5 of this program you will discover :

*     How to NOT get hit by a car during running in the night J

*     Why it might be a good idea to start training with a heart rate monitor

*     How to prevent sweat coming into your eyes while you are running

*     How to prevent cramp. You don’t want to have cramps during training. It will slow you down and it is hard to enjoy running while having pain

*     How to use cross-training to prevent injuries

*     How to not get a cold in the winter or during rainy days

*     How to stay out of nasty injuries by walking on the “right” side of the road

*     Why you should and why you shouldn’t run in circles

*     Why you should NOT run the same circle you always do (it sounds strange, but this one will prevent injuries also

*     How to avoid dehydration (which is often overlooked, but extremely important)

*     How to prevent headaches during or after your training

*     Why you need to run on the left side of the road (except for the British)

*     How to cope with injuries… Don’t let the injuries win from you!

*     How to prevent blisters, or how to deal with them

Once you’ve found out how to stay out of injuries you are ready to actually start implementing all these strategies out of this program. Here comes the fun part!

Part 6

“Running Tips, Tricks And Techniques”

In this part of the program you will discover how you can run longer, faster and further. Once you’ve reached the point where you can run longer than you could ever imagine you have to apply these running tips, tricks and techniques. You will discover how to keep on going when you feel like giving up, what speed to run and a lot more other great strategies which helped me (and many others) improve my training to the extreme!

In this (extremely important) part of the program you will find out:

*     How you can avoid running with a bottle of water in your hands (or jacket)

*     Why you should run in quiet surroundings

*     When to run (in the morning, afternoon of evening?)

*     How to make your results measurable and what this will do for you

*     How to do a “warming-up”

*     How to cool down

*     How to stretch, and when

*     Why you should run slower than you would like to.

*     Why you shouldn’t run more than two long distances a week

*     How to use my “pick a point technique” (this one has helped so many runners, I invented it! ;)

*     How to improve your speed

*     Why you should listen to your body (and not your mind!)

*     What to do when you haven’t followed your running schedule

*     Why you should run different races before you start running a marathon

*
